Electricity Retailer Geneco's plans

Hi all, I see Geneco having these 12 month and 24 months plans. The 24 month plan is cheaper per month obviously, but is there any pros and cons between these 2? Is it safer to just sign up for the 12 month plan in case I got screwed over?

Pros of the 24-month plan:

-- Lower monthly cost - Since you're committing to a longer contract, Geneco is able to offer a discounted monthly rate compared to the 12-month plan.

-- Price stability - The rate is locked in for the full 24 months, providing more predictability in your energy costs.

Cons of the 24-month plan:

-- Longer commitment - You're locked into a 24-month contract, so you can't easily switch providers if your needs change.

Pros of the 12-month plan:

-- Shorter commitment - You only have to commit for 12 months, providing more flexibility to change providers if needed.

Cons of the 12-month plan:

-- Higher monthly cost - The monthly rate is higher compared to the 24-month plan.

Overall, the 12-month plan may be the safer option if you're unsure about your long-term energy needs or want more flexibility. However, the 24-month plan could provide greater cost savings if you're confident you'll stay with Geneco for the full contract period. I'd recommend carefully weighing your specific situation and examine the offerings from the other eight electric providers before choosing either plan with Geneco

Depends if you think the cost will drop or increase on the 2nd year.

Most likely tariff should be going upward trend, better to get 24 mths....
