Does it make sense to buy USD Treasury Bonds ETF (domiciled in Ireland) after factoring in currency exchange rates and expense ratios (0.46%)? What about TIPS as well (0.65%)?

Hi Cheryl, yes purchasing a UCITS ETF for US High Quality Bonds and Inflation Protected bonds can be a good idea.
But when investing in bonds, I'd suggest using an active bond fund instead of a passive bond index tracker. Here's an article that explains why this might be a better option. https://www.etf.com/etf-education-center/etf-ba...
Also, I'd expand to a global allocation instead of just US alone. An example of such a fund would be Dimensional Short Fixed Income Fund with a lower TER than the ones you mentioned.
