I have a wedding planned for 2020 which will happen in a Hotel, are there any specific miles cards I should use to maximise the local spend under this hotel travel category?
Does it actually count as a travel category for miles cards?
Appreciate all the senpais here who can help.

Usually Hotel Wedding is classified under "Food & Beverage", not travel.

From my knowledge, no.
However, it depends on the exact card that you will be using. The best way to verify this will be to call up the bank or to check the MCC under the terms of the card itself.
