Hey! Personally, I feel that it is not the title of the degree that matters, but what your eventual career aspirations are. The degree could serve as a reflection of that aspiration and propel you ahead in your journey. That being said, both communications and marketing are rather general degrees, thus if you're worried about being disadvantaged when choosing one over the other, I don't think you have to worry too much! Ultimately, the degree is but a certification, and for general degrees, it will be your experience (ie internships, apprenticeships, CCAs etcetc) that will enable you to stand out.

Ah i can answer this for comms side, working n studying both in comms...
Comms is more versatile imo. Can do advertising, PR, Corp comms, journalism, content creation, any writers and even marketing. Comms is more on communicating messages to the audience.
Marketing is more of the guy behind marketing campaigns, planning, gathering data. Is very focus on generating revenue and promoting the company.
If you are unsure, I feel comms is a better choice (make sure u like writing ah). However, if you are interested in marketing, then marketing is a better choice! Becuz u get to study more in depth topics other than just the typical Swot analysis lol.
Good luck! :)
