Do you think individual stock picking or buying into Index Funds or ETFs could be a better opportunity for a relatively young investor in mid-20s?

Which is better - individual stock picking or buying into Index Funds or ETFs?

There is so much evidence that active stock picking does not work over longterm consistently (when benchmarked against an appropriate index). but many don't like to believe it. neither active mutual fund managers nor retail investors. i recommend to read the classic Burton Malkiel book (A Random Walk ... 2019), probably the only book needed for investing. try it, it is free for download on zlibrary.

complement that - if you don't mind - with my too lengthy thread here on Seedly, to gather insights on what not to do. Be a critical thinker, don't believe everything (including my own thoughts).

good luck !
