Do you think finance should be taught in schools more?

Do you think it should be the government's responsibility to teach more finance related items or do you think it will widen the gap between the rich and the poor more

Yes, Finance is a practical knowledge that needs to be inculcated at a young age. By better understanding how to manage personal finance and budget planning, it will help to reduce over-liability in credit usage in the longer term.

I agree, but it should be taught by professionals who have the knowledge.

MOE-trained teachers may be good with the foundation of pure subjects, but not the application of money (as a tool).

But then, professionals in the industry who have the knowledge often share with "ulterior motive" - aka to grow their own business & make money for themselves. Not easy to find good-minded well-informed selfless presenters in this field.

Well there can be merits in teaching finance from young.

But there is also social responsibility.

And I mean us. All of us play a role, in educating the people around us.

Schools already have crowded curricula. Adding finance might mean cutting something else (arts, civics, etc.). Also, finance topics can become outdated quickly (e.g., payment methods, crypto), and poorly trained teachers might do more harm than good.

Perhaps something to weave in existing subjects like Maths, economics etc.

Maybe can expose the students more from secondary schools....
