Do you still need to contribute to CPF if mandatory contribution alone hits the limit of $37740 for the year?

So for e.g, Mandatory contribution alone is $3700 per month. Based on this amount, will the hit the cap of $37740 in 11 months (round up). So what will happen to the last month? Do I need to still contribute or will the money intended for MC go into my bank account?

Is the op also asking whether if the contributions to cpf if 3xceeds the 37k cap what happens tocthe rest. I think it could exceed the cap. Cause some pple got 1 mth mid yr bonus. 13 m salary. 1.5mth end yr bonus, 3 to 4 mth performance bonus. (thats 12 +1+1+1.5+4m) =19.5 months x 2200 = 41800. Exceed liao the 37k cap.

So how what happens to the extra money in my scenario.

For each employer, total annual MC can't contribute more than $37740. With max $6000 from mothly salary subject to contribution, max monthly contribution is $6000 x 37% = $2220, it won't hit $3700 in your example.

Unless you have 2 jobs, you would have 2x $37740 annual limit for total MC and VC.
