Do people know that if they use CPF to pay for housing, they would need to to refund the principal amount taken from CPF account, plus accrued interest?

For simple calculation, If one used 300k from CPF for property, and CPF rates is 2.5%

If is for 10 years, it is $384,025.36

If is for 20 years, it is $491,584.93

If is for 30 years, it is $629,270.27

I think it only matters if you intend to sell your property. otherwise you can just let the accured interest accumulate

If i may offer a different perspective, it still is your account that those monies are being refunded into - which can be used to procure another house or be stashed into your SA for retirement purposes.
