Hi Perina,
Visa is more widely accepted, you will have more issues with Amex acceptance. The Visa card also comes with lounge access, the Amex does not. Otherwise, both cards are pretty similar, even their income requirements.
However, AMEX cards cannot be DCC-ed, so that provides an additional measure of safety when travelling overseas, not that you will face any problem with Visa since the merchant is supposed to offer you the option of DCC, and you can politely decline.
