I've made some bad investing decisions in the past when I was still really new at investing. Basically stock-picked from the US market and bought the dip during COVID, then got greedy when the prices shot up and did not take any profit. Now the prices are really low again and I'm 8k (25%) in the red. This loss is about 10% of my total investment portfolio.
Not sure whether I should keep holding on or sell and realise the loss..
Not very confident of the future of the stocks at present (ADBE, DOCU, NFLX, TSLA)- to name a few.
Thank you in advance!

There are a few questions that you need to answer yourself before making any decision.
Which stocks are in the red? and how bad?
Why did u invest in them in the first place?
Why are u not very confident of the future of the chosen stocks?
Have u taken a relook at your portfolio again and research?
Do u need the money ASAP?
What's your purpose of investing?
What's your horizon?
If u doubt yourself in just roughly 3 years, do u think u shd do investing? if yes, is the US market suitable for u?

It is better to DCA instead of cutting lose.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson about buying hype stocks and taking investment advice from Youtube and Reddit.
Do you need the money now? Sell
Do you think you can recoup your losses and increase the chance of achieving longterm growth by selling and reinvesting the proceeds in something else? Sell.
Otherwise if you still believe these are the best assets for that portion of your net worth to be invested in, hold.

All you ever need to do is invest in a broad diversified etf like VOO or CSPX. and keep doing that forever. best is never sell until you die just pass down to the next generation. lol. that is really all any one need to ever do. dont bother stock picking. its akin to gambling. save yourself the trouble and trust that everytime we do eventually reverts to the mean. if u understand mean reversion, then there is no need to pick stocks. no one can beat the index forever.
