Initially wanted to get Citi Premier miles for big purchases but I am already holding a citi card.
What other alternatives do I have?

Depends what kind of rewards are you looking for?
Depends what kind of limit your card has?
Depends on exclusions?
I use the UOB absolute. While it only has a low 1.7% cashback, it has
(ii) There is no minimum spend required to receive Cashback.
(iii) There is no cap on the maximum amount of Cashback that you can earn.
(vi) The Cashback amount credited will be used to automatically offset the billed amount for your Card account in your next statement month. The Cashback cannot be withdrawn as cash, cannot be transferred to any other UOB credit card or debit card accounts or UOB accounts, and cannot be used to offset any minimum payment due, late payment charge, interest charges or any other fees imposed by UOB.
(vii) “Transactions” means retail transactions successfully charged to your Card account and posted on the UOB’s system but excludes the following:
(a) all NETS and NETS-related transactions;
(b) Installment Payment Plans, SmartPay transactions (unless otherwise stated);
(c) cash advances;
(d) any fees and/or charges (including without limitation, late payment charges, interest charges, annual or monthly fees or charges, service fees or processing fees) imposed by UOB;
(e) personal loans, balance and/or fund transfers;
(f) any transaction that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed; and
(g) amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement.
So meaning you can pay insurance, do ewallet topups and etc.
Paired with the grabpay master card, you can earn grab points as well while covering for places that don’t support the Amex features of UOB absolute! So it’s a no brainer if you’ve hit the limit for your current credit card or have a low monthly cap!
But I’m not sure how big your purchases are so do take note of grab’s limit if you want to gain grabpoints by pairing the absolute with them while enjoying your unlimited cashback!

What are you looking to spend on? I shun Citi PremierMiles with its low dollar to mile rate. Yes, you can hold the miles "forever" but that's because it takes "forever" to earn those miles. A friend recently shared that he accumulated over 240,000 miles from Citi PremierMiles. That's about $200,000 in spending over many years.
I myself started accumulating miles only in 2018, and already took a round-trip to Europe on Business Class and because of Covid, saving towards 2 RTW tickets on Business Class. I probably spent less. If you are into the miles game, I encourage you to check out Citi Rewards, UOB Prefered Platinum, OCBC Titanium and those cards with 10x rewards on certain type of spending. My day to day card is definitely UOB PP. It accumulates 10x rewards, equivalent to 4 miles for any contactless or online spending. Load it on my phone and hardly goes wrong. The only downside is the $1,000 per month cap.
For a comparable card to PremierMiles where there's no restriction on the type of spending, check out UOB PrviMiles. They have a few versions that includes JetQuay VIP terminal usage, bonus miles when you spend a certain amount of dollars, and most importantly, it's 1.4 miles instead of the paltry 1.2 miles.
