Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it hard to find girls who actually understands the importance of personal finance and investing ? Not trying discriminate here but just curious if this is true.

Most of my girl friends get turned off by the idea of living frugally and thinks that life is miserable if we live frugally. But of course my definition of frugality does not prevent me from enjoying life. I still reward myself here and then while sticking to my game plan. They have yet to realised the importance of this delayed gratification isn't it.

As a female in my late 20s, I also had a hard time understanding the importance of financial literacy though I don't think it was a gender thing but more of a lifestage issue. My thoughts when it comes to savings and investing is that we should always start early (as early as one can), save little and save often.

In fact, I have only just started my financial journey early this year and I wanted to be safe when it comes to investing, and hence, have decided to put my money in investment platforms that give a more stable returns and are less volatile. I have started using financial apps that make me more mindful of how I spend, save and invest my money.

Yes, going to correct you here. I can only assume that:

  1. You're asking the question as you're surrounded by female friends who are not interested to discuss with you or who are genuinely not interested in the topic because they had a good life and never had to worry about their finances so far.
  2. You're asking this question without thinking: you failed to consider that women carried their child for 9 months, suffered consequences for it and that is one of the greatest delayed gratification in life and if they chose the wrong man, it may also become their greatest regrets in life if corrections are not done in time.
  3. You have considered this question very carefully but do not have an answer because of your personality/biaseness whatever. In which case you're asking for the sake of asking only.

What kind of observations and metrics did you use to ascertain that they are not interested in personal finances nor investing? Because its one thing to be interested in these topics and another to be discussing these topics with someone who they are not comfortable with. So maybe they are just not comfortable with you. Are you watching them drinking BBT and commenting that they should save the money? If yes, congratulations. Maybe that's why they're reluctant to discuss with you. Unfortunately although we live in a first world there are still many men who decided that they are superior vs women and comment on things they do not understand nor wish to understand before they comment.

This is one of it. I suggest you explore new social circle, clear your slate and refrain from making generalized statements and see if your female friends are now more willing to discuss with you on finances topic without prejudice.
