Can couples share how much was their wedding budget and could they make back from all the ang bao/gifts etc..

Trying to plan my wedding and see if there is any ways I can save costs.

My wedding budget 5 years back:

Pre-wed shots and gown rental (3.5k)
Actual day videographer and photographer (2.4k), Photobooth (700)
Wedding bands (1.5k)
Betrothal (6k gold)
Wedding banquet (25 tables, 33k)
Wedding angbaos (-30k)

Net: about 18k after deducting angbaos..

The cost for banquet (net angbao) usually not very high, as most guest will bao based on the known rates.

You cant make back from all ang bao for sure. You will be net-negative, is just how negative.
The major cost is the pre-wedding shot, banquet, wedding rings and betrothal gift.

pre-wedding can go JB
Banquet- hotels will organise wedding shows, just go visit ask for price, some hotel got perks.
wedding rings depend on you & your partner, how expensive you want to get
Betrothal gift depend on female side parent.

Approx. $50k to $60k for a normal wedding, before all ang bao
