It is recommended to do a check up at least once a year or once every two years. Just to have a piece of mind.
It is usually through such check up that we detect abnormalities in our body and we can always follow up on them immediately to save ourselves from potentially life threatening issues.
It is generally affordable to go to GP and polyclinic for such check up. Check with your personal insurance and company health benefits. Some do cover such medical check up costs.

Once every 2-3 years should be sufficient, unless you find something wrong with your body (touch wood) then it would be good to check whenever it's necessary. Try to do a full body check (including blood and urine tests).
