Yes I just started an account on moomoo. If you're wondering whether to start one, I would say you should to benefit from their aggressive welcome bundle (not sure if this will continue after they've reached a certain size).

Thereafter, you can explore both platforms and decide whether to stick with Tiger or to shift to Moomoo. At least that's my plan.

If you'll like to sign up for Moomoo, do reach out and I'll be happy to share my portion of the referral commission with you.

Aside from the above you'll also get approximately $200 worth of welcome gifts:

  • 1 Free Apple (AAPL) stock (about US$120 as at 10 Mar 2021)
  • 90 days commission free trading
  • S$30 cash coupon
  • Free Level 2 data

Indeed, feels like every animal in the zoo is becoming a brokerage firm (Tiger and now Moomoo 'cow')

That aside, the main company of this brokerage firm is listed in Nasdaq, so I would say its rather credible?

Indeed as what Chris mentioned it is true that there are other more reputable brokers in the market (such as TD and IB) but its simply for the fact they have been in this service for quite a while. However, TD took months to open my account and days for money to be deposited. I read an incident whereby someone was put on hold for 1.5hrs during a call with customer service.

Does reputable brokers equate to a better broker? I don't think so.

I've signed up for Moomoo, no harm doing so since there's no upfront costs/fees involved and it's up to you during the month of February whether you'd like to deposit money to obtain the perks. And I guess with the launch of Moomoo, one can clearly observe the trend of brokerage firms being purely own trades to more of a 'social platform' trading where you can follow friends & brands to be kept updated.

Let me know if you require a referral
