Any platforms to recommend for forex trading?

I tried comparing the spreads, commissions, other fees & packages across various brokerages and it's so overwhelming >.< What's the difference between spreads, basis point, pips, commission etc? How do I compare the brokerages to determine which brokerage has the lowest fees in total?

So far I think I'm inclined towards Interactive brokers, IG & Oanda. Please share your views!! Thank you!
