Hi Nancy, since you're retired, you would want to look for less risky options so you won't lose your funds, especially if it is to support you in your retirement years now..

perhaps FDs would be a good choice, capital guaranteed with some growth but their minimum may be high.

Another consideration could be Sg Savings Bond (SSB), capital guaranteed with half yearly dividends, but need to hold for 10 years, otherwise you could pay $2 to redeem all.

If you really want to have a feel of the market, perhaps look towards robo advisors like stash away and syfe which have no minimum deposit requirement. You will have to answer some questionnaires and they will suggest the "best" portfolio for you to buy.

Or you could consider cash management accounts as well but be aware that robos are not capital guaranteed.

Please do your own due diligence and read up before you begin anything.

All the best!

Mdm, with all due respect, your retirement funds don't put in stocks. Find something more stable that will not fluctuate in value so frequently.

If it's not your retirement funds—if you set aside that small amount of funds to play stocks because backside itchy, then just ask if you can you afford to lose those small funds.

If you can, then anyhow la, as long as 你玩到开心就可以了吗.
