Advice pls: should I take up a contract position in the meantime since I’m not able to get the job that I want. Is there anything wrong or will it affect my resume?

I don't want to leave a gap in my resume hence the contract job. My thinking is at least I've an income and adding experience to my resume Although it's not exactly the job & salary I'm expecting. Am I making a bad decision?

Hello! I think you can take up the contract position for the time being! Nothing bad about this decision. If next time potential employers ask about this gap, you can explain in detail that you want to look for the desired job + the contract job is just a temporary solution for you to have a stream of income.

If the contract position is not something that will contribute to your future career path, you don't really need to include it in the resume also. All the best in finding your desired job! :)

  • As long it pay the bills, is not a bad decision.
  • $1 from a job u like vs $1 from a job u dont like, is still $1.
  • Whatever works.
  • Wont affect resume.
