For me it would depend on how old I am. I'd got for money when younger then transition to passion when older.
We all need money to survive, especially when we just start working and thinking of marriage & housing.

I guess Covid19 taught us change is inevitable - even if one is chosen - can the job continue to pay well (e.g. travel related job in Covid19 was badly hit?) / make us happy (have the ppl who like continue working w us/remains fulfilling and challenging/not 1 person doing 5 persons job)? something to ponder.
There are many factors we can never control / have very limited control over - so I always think whether the work brings joy or disappointment, pays well or not so wells - it's our responses towards it, the experiences gained, the relationships forged and a continous learning journey.
