Hi Will, likely not.
There aren't many policies via DPI that allows for ECI coverage. It should be stated in the product summary if there is so do refer there.

Hi Will,
The idea behind DPI is to provide a standardized product for consumers. In this case, pricing aside, everything else should be equal. Knowing that there is only a standard LIA list of definitions late CI but not early CI, I checked a couple of the product summaries for you to be sure.
The list of covered CI is only for late stage, and only for 30 major CIs as follows:
Alzheimer's Disease / Severe Dementia
Irreversible Aplastic Anaemia
Severe Bacterial Meningitis
Benign Brain Tumour
Blindness (Irreversible Loss of Sight)
Coma
Coronary Artery By-Pass Surgery
Deafness (Irreversible Loss of Hearing)
End Stage Liver Failure
End Stage Lung Disease
Fulminant Hepatitis
Heart Attack of Specified Severity
Open Chest Heart Valve Surgery
HIV due to Blood Transfusion and Occupationally Acquired HIV
End Stage Kidney Failure
Irreversible Loss of Speech
Major Burns
Major Cancer
Major Head Trauma
Major Organ / Bone Marrow Transplantation
Motor Neurone Disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Muscular Dystrophy
Paralysis (Irreversible Loss of Use of Limbs)
Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease
Primary Pulmonary Hypertension
Stroke with Permanent Neurological Deficit
Open Chest Surgery to Aorta
Severe Encephalitis
Angioplasty and Other Invasive Treatment for Coronary Artery
Naturally, at this point, you would be on the 2019 CI definitions if you were to purchase DPI.
