      UOB Uniplus Savings Account

The first bank account that I open for myself when I was young at the bank itself. Good customer service and the app interface have gotten better over time.

      UOB Uniplus Savings Account

UOB used to be passable until early 2022. If you have set up recurrent payments or GIRO, UOB will haphazardly block your transactions (example: Starhub, Courts, Anytime Fitness) and cause you to incur expensive late fees. If you face problems caused by UOB, you can call their customer service. But it is like sh!t. You usually wait more than 30–60 mins. Then once you get through, their people will bounce you back and forth. So even after 2–3 days, the a simple problem never gets solved. Customer service reps always sound annoyed. Ask them to clarify or repeat something, they will start to demean you. In other words, UOB customer service does not treat you as human and is just there to earn a fat cheque while protecting UOB's greedy interests. If you email them or submit a form on their website, good luck to you. You will never hear from them again. If you message them on social media, you will first get a hypocritical public response showing how much they 'care'. Then on Messenger, you will get bounced to emails, calls or other channels of comms. In other words, just PR. If you go the bank, you get the same sh!t. Ironically from a decade ago till 2021, their bank people used to be polite, friendly and helpful. Now, just the opposite. Avoid UOB for now. End 2022 now. Clearly internally something happened and the organisation has become dysfunctional from tech to customer service.
