YouTrip - reliable enough to go on its own?

My YouTrip app just gave popup about an outage and when I check out on the system status page it looks like every two weeks there will be something happening but they seem sometimes cosmetic (balances not reported correctly; cannot topup) and transactions generally still go through

It would be a bit concerning if on a trip and then card stop working - would anyone with user experience share on actual experience and confident enough to go on a trip without other credit cards?

I didn't receive any popout regarding outage but I have the same worry whether YouTrip is stable enough for them to be on their own. I don't think anybody will be able to advise you whether customers can/should have full confidence in them unless there's insider information.

Personally, because I'm not too sure if YouTrip is reliable enough for me to keep large amount of money with them or to travel without other cards, I've decided to keep minimum sum in my YouTrip account, only topping up and exchanging into foreign currency when I need to. And I'll bring along other card(s) as back up.

It has been around for a while. Customer service is still not ideal, and a lot of referral rewards are not awarded unless you bug them (stories on forums).

But mostly positive experience over the internet from regular users.

I guess teething problems are common, but overall they are good and decent.
