With reference to the latest OCBC-LionGlobal HK Tech ETF, is this option better since its denominated in SGD? Or is it better to convert to HK dollars, incur some additional charges and invest in 3067?

Is the OCBC-LionGlobal HK Tech ETF or the HK 3067 better to invest in with changes in FX?

Hi there!

Where foreign exchange is involved, you have to evaluate the pros and cons of the currencies.

SGD is probably a more popular choice because that’s the currency we earn, and also the currency we spend in. SGD is also pretty stable based on history.

Choosing HKD is not wrong either. If you believe HKD will become stronger than SGD in future, you can choose to convert and invest in 3067. If you choose this option, do bear in mind there is foreign exchange risk, because if SGD appreciates against HKD, your returns will be less when you liquidate your investment and convert HKD to SGD.
