Which airlines have seats/services that are very infant-friendly? does SQ make special considerations for infants, and if yes, how do i go about doing this?
Singapore Airlines would be the definite few who is infant friendly. This is due to the airlines focus on being service orientedness.
To enjoy the benefits of "infant Friendliness", you can indciate this at the time of your booking under the remarks section. However Singapore Airlines seems to have a good system where they will immediately know to cater to the infant since the infant will need to purchase a ticket to fly too. It is just to double ensure you get the neccessary considerations for infant traelling by indicating in the remark section
Yes Singapore airline makes special consideration for infants.
Their cabin crews are well trained to understand what is needed for infants... and PARENTS.
To be fair, SQ is great for infants because you have to pay for their tickets. (many american airlines don't charge for infants)
So I guess they are paid to be great in their job.
Here's a list of airlines that are very child friendly. It's quite a detailed read, and should give you an idea of which airlines to prioritize your booking with.
Naturally, you will want to indicate during your booking that you are bringing an infant onboard, and then follow up with the airline seperately in order to make special arrangements.
There are quite a few that are infant-friendly. You'll usually have to put a note when you are booking the tickets (online reservations), some have a box to tick off for travelling with infants. Or you can call the airline with your reservation number and let them know you are bringing an infant on board.
baby bassinets, diapers, disposable bibs and feeding bottles are just a few things that you can request for in-flight with Singapore Airlines.
Access to activity games and toys that consist of stickers, memory card games, puzzles, soft toys, colouring papers are also available for babies/infants.
Also allows you to bring on-board your breastmilk (even if 100ml). Provides kids' meals, but not sure if baby food is provided.
Offers pre-ordering of meals for kids/babies and allows families to board first. Also helps to warm up any food or milk that you have.
Provides an activity pack that consists of a backpack, book, eye masks, pen and activity book. A soft toy and a blanket is also provided with a baby's amenity kit including baby wipes, a spoon, a bib and a bassinet liner.
Offers free travel for kids under 2
Offers complimentary check in of 1 bag weighing up to 10 kg as well as a stroller at no charge

Personally, I have found the SQ is quite good with coming to parents with their baby in the bassinet, and entertaining the kids with toys and baby food!
Just indicate it at the time of booking.
Yes SQ has baby bassinets which I think really helps but do indicate that you want it when you purchase your tickets.
Below is a list of other infant/kid friendly airlines:
Yes with SQ you can request for a bassinet (for babies up to 14 kg) when booking an infant ticket. Also provided for infants is a bassinet comforter; it also functions as a baby blanket that you can keep after the flight.
Diapers, disposable bibs, feeding bottles and baby wipes are also available in limited amounts.
You may also consider the fact that cabin crew are also trained to assist parents. They help keep kids occupied and can help to carry an infant to give parents a needed break.
What I hear from parents is SQ is great.
No point for guessing - another great one is Emirates.
Just make sure you tell them upfront while checking in
My pick would be to go with SQ. When you book your flight on the Singapore Air website, once you indicate that you have an infant travelling with you, you would be able to select front row seats right away before the rest. Otherwise, you usually can only choose what's left upon check-in.
They also provide bassinets, baby food, bottles and plenty of help. Finally, the service charge is really a fraction of the cost, so it's really a great deal.
If you book with Singapore airlines, usually you will be able to select a seat with bassinet at the time of booking. They also give you complimentary seat selection for the rest of the travelling party. And the price for infant ticket in economy class can sometimes be negligible - I booked a trip for Perth on a ticket costing $600, but my baby girl is charged only $40!
Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar - These are my favourite few, with Singaopre Airlines being the automatic first choice (best service overall).
You will be able to request for baby bassinets at the time of booking the flight. Additionally, they come with kids' meals and children's entertainment.
Enter a remark at the time of booking or give them a call. Request for them to insert in a note into your booking. The rest are fairly automatic and a breeze upon check-in. =)
By the way, you get to enjoy priority check-in on most occassions. =)
Here is everything about me and what I do best.
