My mom has 300k of spare cash and is looking for somewhere to park the money instead of a savings account. She is not financially savvy and does not want to lock up her money for too long (I.e. more than 5 years. Is FD the best option for her? If yes, what is a realistic rate we are looking at? If not, what are the other options?

What age is your mother at now?
Has she reached the FRS amount for CPF?
Is capital guaranteed important to her (which means the money must be able to be used in 5 years time?
Has she put into Singapore Savings Bond already?
Has she explored citigain maxi-savings account?
Does she want to explore Elastiq Etiqa too?
Do let us know more, if not, it really depends.
