What is your advice to people who already have been working in a specific industry but due to circumstances are stuck with no growth? Would switching industry "waste" the last few years of work?

I would work backwards from your life goals.

If you were to continue in this current industry will it lead you to where you want to be in life?

Is it the industry that is holding back your growth? Or company?

If you start afresh will it make it more or less likely that you can reach your goals?

I am asking you these questions because I have changed industry multiple times. If you can retain what you learn and you consciously picked up skills along the way, then it is definitely not a waste.
