What is the future of remisiers in SG?
Since I opened trading account 10 years ago, I have not had any interaction with Remisiers at all. Maybe I am just a small fish not worthy of remisier's time and effort. But then, why do we need remisiers?

Ordering from remisiers results in a higher comission charger than online platforms. Furthermore these 2 actions do the same thing, therefore remisiers do not offer value add
This is why the position of remisier is changing where they offer financial products or encourage account opening in cfd and unit trusts.
You are right in saying the future of remisiers is bleak and they definitely have to innovate

I'm actually curious too. With everyone/anyone being able to place a trade just with a single click at low fees, I'm not sure if remisiers is still of value. However with that said, I'm sure that remisiers are also providing other services such as insurance, fund management etc.
