Hey Daryl, biggest issue I face now is still being greedy just because I see peers doing well. Then when I succumb to that greed and buy a stock/option, I will track this stock daily. And I feel my lifestyle gets affected by it! At the same time, I am not willing to cut loss because of 'hope'. Well I think the only solution is really to cut loss and forget about it, look forward and take it as a paid lesson!

What about you?

Hi Daryl,

It's emotion (greed, fear, regret, you name it). I doubt this is a problem that will ever be solved, as we are humans, and emotion is what makes us human.

Oh well, guess I'll have to manage as best as I can.

The biggest issue i facing now is too much information. Information overload. Some are good and some are bad ones. Especially when i have too high conviction in one stock, it makes me bias. Trying my best to change.

Totally agree. That's why i design systems & reasons to filter out stocks, info sources, valuation, earnings resilience. Applying the 80/20 rule could help.

In my earlier days, I did not know what the financials terms were and they became quite terrifying for me.

Thankfully, I did not give up and I went around to ask. I've learned to ask and find great mentors to assist me.

Have you tried FSMOne? I've switched to them for local stocks. Although these days i dont have many transactions anymore

Getting into positions based on past data and not current fundamentals. Something I'm still stuck with and trying to get out of.

Hey Jonathan, thats something that was on my mind recently. A company i monitored dropped 15% after a change of CEO and another 15% after they announced losing a business deal. Imagine someone who bought based on the past data.. I try to dig about what happened through forums and also google. Lots of good stuff and generous people!

How to differentiate between market movement and stock movement?

Often, I am affected by stock movement without realising that the market is moving in the same direction as well. Consequently, there is nothing much to do other than to have a well-balanced portfolio.

On the other hand, if the stock is moving downwards while the market is moving upwards, I will like to know that my stock is the issue and not the market.

Here is everything about me and what I do best.

The biggest issue i have is that many stocks in Singapore are experiencing price manipulation by trading houses or that the accounts of listed companies have transparency issue where they suddenly can do billion dollar impairment in a year

I wish MAS and acra can be more stringent and vigilant in their regulatory monitoring
