What do you think we should do with 1,000 face masks?

Now that we've moved the Seedly Personal Finance Festival to 2021, we have a some huge boxes of masks sitting in our office. We're crowd-sourcing ideas from the community to know where we can donate these masks to.

Help us out by leaving an answer here with one or a few locations you feel we can move these to, and we'll take a picture next week to show that we've done it!

Thong chai medical hall. It’s a free clinic catering to the needy and the doctors and admins are running low on legit masks. http://www.stcmi.org.sg

The govt is prioritising masks to our healthcare workers (as they should) so I don't think 1000 masks will make a difference either way for them. Perhaps can donate to the food/groceries delivery guys or taxi/phv drivers

I’m guessing that most people will say donate the masks to medical staff. But is it a particular hospital? The ER staff? Nurses in charge of the isolation wards? I shall leave the possibilities open for the Community haha.

Besides medical staff, perhaps we could give them out to the people delivering food? Since they are the ones going out there for us, it’s the least we can do.

Hi,

You may wish to list your offer as donation in-knd item for the mask at the SGUnited site. Alternatively, you may also contact the charity directly via the site for those who has listed their needs request for surgical mask at the SGUnited site. All oragnisations are located in Singapore.

Here is the link:

Hope to hear from you!

I suggest giving it to the elderly who live alone or in rental estates who tend to be poor, frail and may not be able to move about easily.

It might be hard for them to squeeze with the crowd to buy masks and end up not getting it at all, when they are one of the few groups who are more proned to viruses due to a weaker immune system.

Anyone has suggestions on which areas or neighbourhoods we can give masks to these elderly, please leave a comment here! #seedlycares #seedlygivesback #seedlycommunity

I suggest to shrink wrap the face masks and make it 1-time packs for Seedly event attendees (no more than 10 for small group sessions, no group photo), if not just keep for Seedly and ShopBack staff own consumption #WINoverCOVID19in2020

Company usually will sponsor their staff with the necessary gear, so those vulnerable would be those that are self employed, e.g. Taxi drivers, free lancers, delivery staff, caretakers of charitable organisations such as temples, old folks home, etc.

Consider this community: Happy People Helping People Community

From my knowledge, they are a volunteer-run group who helps needy elderly in our society. As our immune system becomes weaker over time, I believe they will really appreciate your kind donation. 🙏

Thank you so much Kenneth!
