What do you think insurance agents need to do in order to clear their bad reputation? There are some black sheep but I'm sure not all are "bad"?

Hi Anon! I think society has generally painted a bad picture over insurance agents, but of course, there will always be some black sheep in the industry. It is up to the individual insurance agents to differentiate themselves from the pack and let their own character shine true. Being an insurance agent is a tough job given the social stigma around them, but they are definitely providing a valuable service that is often overlooked.
Consider reaching out to friends whom you know that are insurance agents, or get other friends to recommend you their own insurance agents. My sister recommended her friend to me and we've just recently become good friends. I would say it is a good two in one since I gained a trusted insurance agent and a friend.

Insurance agents would value referrals and it would be more beneficial to you as you are talking to someone that you already know or have a mutual friend with. You will be less awkward around them and it would be easier to build some trust between you two. ​​​

Like every industry, there will always be some sheep. For instance, the existence of CPIB is to deter corruption in Singapore. However, are all the officers in CPIB corrupt-free? The answer can be found easily on Google.

In like manner, the insurance industry is no different. Be that as it may, it narrows down to an individual upbringing and moral compass when it comes to making difficult decisions.

If you are righteous and responsible, then there is nothing more that you need to do to prove yourself. In fact, the only thing that the agent needs to do is through action.
