The new PSLE scoring system uses Achievement Levels (ALs) based on a student’s individual subject scores instead of a T-score, which benchmarks a child’s performance relative to their peers.

At first, I thought it's the same because this won't stop helicopter parents from pursuing the top via tuition.
I asked my friend and my friend said it stops people from comparing over minute differences.

I then came to (my own) conclusion that this system protects the children, which is a good thing. Children are delicate. Everything we say and do impact them for a long, long time.
It does not make sense to claim for sure that someone with a T-score of 201 is more capable than one with a score of 200... what if the former person spotted the question, etc?
