    All the things there are:

for converting your SGD to USD to send to TD Ameritrade, let that currency switch do an independent, reliable service like TransferWise (or competitors), not your bank or broker who could charge 1.5 - 2.0 % conversion fees that are handled intransparently often

Is it possible to fund TD Ameritrade via transferwise? I didnt think it was.

Difficult to say, the brokers have two principal motivations to not accept TransferWise #1 they want to convert the currency for higher fees (though I think TD A accepts only USD incoming ??) #2 they must be sure that no money laundering is involved. they want to have your own name on the incoming funds (which is not the case with Transferwise; however TransferWise allows you to open an USD account on your own name, then it could be possible. otherwise you could first send SGD switched by TW to USD to a multicurrency account of your regular bank, you could even send your bank the TW statements so they see that is a transaction in your own name, only afterwards sending USD to TD A).
    Thank You!
