I attended one on writing resumes and brushing up on interview skills, when I decided to return to be a full-time employee after being a freelancer for 2 years.

Trainers were very strategic in their methods on how to improve our resumes. After all, your resume needs to stand out, before you can even get a foot in the interviewer's door.

They also taught us how to dress well and be confident in our approach.

And to wrap up the workshop, we need to prepare ourselves for a mock-up interview responding to a real advertisement. They invited current HR managers 1-on-1 to give us suggestions on how to improve our chances after reviewing our interview with them. Only $10 for Singaporeans to attend it for the 1st time (not sure about now). It was helpful for me, and you also get peer support. All the attendees at the workshop were also looking for a job or thinking of switching careers, so there's nothing to be uncomfortable about. Everyone's trying their best.

If you really need a job quickly, you can try to tap your husband's company or its subsidiaries, to see if there are any suitable openings. However, I'd recommend you to go through the govt. body first. Good to get that confidence up and you can be better prepared for later on.
