Out of curiosity, I look at the FX spreads on IB. Have to concede defeat. On the other hand, local bank FX spreads are quite horrendous. I'm constrained though. Have to use POEMS.

If these can be paid via contactless payments, you could consider UOB preferred platinum. Although you can earn 4mpd on such transactions, this is capped at $1,110 per month so it may not sufficiently cover all of your payments. But this is a definite good way of maximising all miles for this purchases.

No workarounds that I know of. If you could use a credit card to earn points by paying for stocks....imagine what would happen.

Hi there, TransferWise works as a money transfer service, they do not act as the "middleman" to transfer money to your stock brokerage. If you want to purchase overseas stocks, may I recommend that you can use Interactive Brokers? You can top up in SGD and exchange to other currency through the platform, real time exchange rate as well!

Those in Revolut app currencies are those you need to convert from SGD to that country currency. Other then that Revolut support 140 currencies which you just have to top up the amount to Revolut and it will automatically convert when you withdraw. I did try once during my Vietnam trip. But do note that there is a fee charged when you withdraw from the ATM. Hope below url link helps. https://www.revolut.com/en-SG/help/exploring-revolut/spending/what-currencies-are-supported-for-spending

It's considered a retail transaction but do note that banks generally bar top-up transactions like Revolut from earning cashback/miles

I was prepared for the deluge of questions. I wrote a blogpost on it. My opnion is that if banks start to exclude Grab's attractiveness will fall off the cliff. This is because they have to find a way to rival 4 miles per dollars attractivness or 3+% rebates. If you refer to my table, you can see that the only worth it one is its ability to link to Singtel Dash only https://investmoolah.blogspot.com/2019/12/how-much-can-we-save-with-new-grabpay.html

I can't say that I love the design of the card, but I appreciate that it's Asia's first numberless card. I like the various functions too: - Free mobile phone protection coverage if they pay for their monthly mobile bills using the GrabPay Card - Complimentary e-commerce purchase protection for their online shopping - Because the card is tied to the GrayPay wallet, customers can set a budget for spending by capping the wallet top-up each month

YouTrip

You'd hope YouTrip works in Thailand given they've launched a localized version of their product there! :)
