Most cashback cards require you have had minimum spending before you can get the cashback. As for the DBS Altitude, if you don't think you can hit that amount, then don't force yourself to. There's no need to take advantage of the promotion; the card benefits are good enough (in my opinion at least).

Hi there, if you are opening a DBS multiplier account, you really should pair it with a credit card to earn the bonus interest. Between those two cards, it doesn't matter too much, but be aware that the cash backs are subjected to various limits and criteria, and the annual fee is also payable (although you should be able to waive it). An alternative is to consider a miles card like DBS Altitude where you can earn miles on your first dollar with no restriction and save them up for aspirational travel. Annual fee payment on a miles card will also earn you additional miles.

If you top up your grabpay wallet, it doesn’t count. If you pay for grab rides using your live fresh card, it counts.

Depends. You can look into BOC Family card. 10% on Dining, 5% on online shopping. However minimum spend is $700 so you will be putting everything onto your card expense.

Possible but not worth doing so. It's not about the $1 spending on credit card but rather salary credit is too low. Use the calculator at their website to calculate the interest you can earn: https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/landing/dbs-multiplier/ ! If you credit the full 1.5k in and spend $1 on credit card, you'll get on 0.05% interest. The better choice would be go to CIMB fastsaver hassle free 1% no conditions that earns you more interest. You can still apply the DBS live fresh and use as you wish. Instead of the above, I suggest you go with this hack contributed by Seedly community members, get more cash back of couple hundreds a year. See the links below: https://blog.seedly.sg/cashback-hack-interest-posb-bonus-cashback-cimb-fastsaver-dbs-multiplier/ Summary: Ops for POSB Cash back bonus saver + CIMB fast saver 1% p.a 1) Use POSB cash back bonus saver by: (a) credit your salary ini (b) spend at least $1 on any POSB / DBS credit card (c) Buy investment such as POSB Invest savers using Nikkoa AM STI ETC etc. 2) Put your savings into CIMB fast saver 1% p.a and earn easy interest Next, my personal though is that: 3) With your spending of $300-600 on groceries, food, entertainment, EZ-Link and M1 bills) - If you can spend another $100 on something to make it $700, then apply BOC family visa card and get cash back on all the category: ! => By spending on BOC family visa, you can get cash back of another $20 to $50 every month! More $$$ back for your bang!! The BOC Family card cash back details and T&C: http://pic.bankofchina.com/bocappd/singapore/201803/P020180327710875490784.pdf
