PSLE scores shouldn't be the first benchmark on our potential to achieve success in life. What's your story?

As a 12-year old then, we might not have known that grades aren't everything. But having gone past that phase and as adults now, we now know that our worth is truly more than just a paper.

Nowadays, I perceive these scores as things to help you get to the next step in life, nothing more. Success comes from persistent hard work and not discrete, occasional test scores.

Hi there, just sharing my story.

My PSLE score was 186 so I had no choice but to be in NA stream. I worked very hard during Sec 1 and became a top student in my cohort and promoted to Express.

While I was in Express, I was struggling with English (still now), my results were average as I am strong at other subjects like Maths, Science and Humanities. Fast forward to O Level, I did not expect to get D7 for English but I still managed to go to Poly.

I retook my O Level English and managed to get a C6 at the end of the day. I continued to work hard in Poly and graduated with a GPA of 3.955 and got myself a university spot in NUS Business Analytics.

I believe that hard work pays off at the end of the day, even if you did not do well in PSLE, you will get rewarded so long you study hard.
