Miles or cashback- any type of rewards would be great! What would be other ways to hack rewards?

Hey Anon,

You are right that both GrabPay and GPMC are not eligible for AXS transactions, only just recently implemented. I tried to explore other ways to pay using my Grabpay credits but seems like there isn't any. I was trying to pay for my insurance, which I can't link to any debit card and all. Sadly, that amount is stuck in my Grabpay credits.. And I just realize my top up didn't earn any miles :/

Some service providers may allow you to pay your bills via their website. This means GPMC can still be used to pay the bills, in turn providing you the opportunity to still capailitise on the grab-UOB rebate etc.

For those, which you are not able to, pherhaps you could use alternative methods such as Cardup which transforms your bills that you need to pay into credit card payments which means GPMC is able to be used. However take note, Cardup charges a 1.6% or is it 1.9% fee of the the total amount, so the overall rebates you earn will be less

SP services- 1% on posb everyday card. If they are big amounts, you can try cardup or ipaymy but there's a transaction fee of 1.9% - 2.6%

There are a few credit card that cover SP services and electricity - uob one, maybank friends and family

You can use cardup as an alternative as well but it will incur fees.

You could use cardup if the extra fees are worth the rewards. If not, pay directly to the merchants!

Maybe pay direct to the merchants using GPMC?

Hey there, such a bumer that AXS has stopped accepting these payment abruptly. It seems the rare few way around this is through CardUp https://community.whatcard.sg/t/a-workaround-for-paying-bills-with-grabpay-credits/583

One downside is that while GrabPay doesn't charge any extra fees when using it for payment, CardUp charges a rate of 1.9-2.6% for Singapore credit cards, which means that you are basically “buying” your credit card rewards with these fees

Hi Anon,

I was of the impression that GPMC is still allowed on AXS Mobile, no?

If i'm not mistaken, in AXS Mobile from the dropdown list, we can select "Mastercard" followed by "Key in 16-digit Card Number" to proceed with payment. So GPMC can still be used, unless I'm wrong here.

That sucks, big time. I'm still planning to top up for Jan and Feb as I have insurance premiums coming up. Plans destroyed, for now. haha

You can use CardUp or iPayMy but there is a fee from 1.x% to 2.x% depending on promotion rate and period.

I usually use that to pay a big lump sum so that it is more worth for sign up bonus on new miles card

After double checking the MCC of the respective credit card, pay directly at the merchant.

Here is everything about me and what I do best.
