Laptop for university recommendations?

Deciding between Huawei D14 and Acer Aspire 5. What would you recommend? Budget 1.5k, prefer something lightweight, not doing intensive video/photo editing, preferable ~8hrs of battery life. Thanks.

I'm not sure about a specific laptop but here are some specs in a laptop that you can consider.

Processor: Intel's i5 chip or AMD's Ryzen 7 chip should suffice.

RAM: 8GB is sufficient for most tasks.

Storage: 256GB or 512GB.

Display: I read that 300 nits is recommended but I'm not very sure about this.

You'll also want to make sure the laptop is light if you're bringing it around often. So a 13 inch or 14 inch laptop should be what you're looking at.

Some companies have discounts for university students, so leverage on that. I know Apple and Lenovo have education discounts.

For myself, I'm a year 4 CS student. My laptop is a 1.3k 13inch Asus Zenbook with a dual-core i7 procesor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. It has lasted me about 4 years so far, so I can attest that the specs I've listed above is generally sufficient, although the 256GB storage is a bit troublesome as I need to constantly transfer some files over to a hard drive, so you might want to consider a 512GB SSD instead.
