Just started using IB a month ago. Was going to make my monthly investment ytd when i realised that my USD.SGD i bought last mth to convert my sgd funds is an open position?

What does it mean if my USD.SGD is at an open position? I usually buy forex usd.sgd whenever i'm going to make my investment monthly. If it's an open trade and it shows urlz p&l, what does it mean?? I usually try to use up all the usd, but sometimes there'll be a left over of a couple dollars here and there. Please advise if anything needs to be done or i can just leave it and buy more usd.sgd pair whenever i need to for my investment. Thanks!!

It's a virtual FX position, which is automatically generated when you use IDEALPRO. Unless you're doing forex trading, you can just ignore it and just refer to your account balance instead.

To avoid creating virtual FX positions in the future, use FXCONV instead of IDEALPRO when converting currency (on TWS). On mobile, using the currency converter tool will not create a virtual position as well.
