Is it worthwhile to get the DBS Esso Card just for petrol savings or is it better to get a cashback card such as the Citi Bank cashback card for general spending?

It depends on your usage and spending power. If you are able to spend at least $888 on your Citi Cashback card, then the cashback may be slightly more for petrol as compared to DBS Esso card itself.

Hence, further calculation is required in order to determine your mileage and expenditure.

Are debit cards necessarily lousier than credit cards? I saw a UOB promotion giving 5 miles per $1 for a debit card spending. Why would banks do that? Is it wise for me to just get a debit card?
