Is it worth studying for a master's degree?

I have worked for about 7 years. I realised that people in well-known companies have masters or PhDs. Wonder if it's time to pursue one to increase my employability. If so, are virtual programme recognised?

Other than passion, I think it's contingent on your field of study as well. Some technical fields place a lot of weight on a masters/Phd degree for promotion
