Never FOMO into crypto. Know what you are doing and the risks involved. Crypto is extremely volatile and sometimes your portfolio may lose about 60% sometimes it'll increase by 60%.

That said i personally think it's still early. Many institutions are only beginning to look into it and there was some leaked document from Citibank about their price prediction for BTC which was 300k. So, there is still room to grow.

Lastly, only put what you are willing to lose and don't be too quick to sell. All the best in your crypto journey!

Disclosure: I bought into BTC and ETH only on Monday so we're not in very different situations.

Personally, I feel it's still ok to buy BTC now. I see it as a small hedge against the falling USD. As such, I have allocated about 1.2% of my portfolio into crypto and looking to deploy another ~1%. I see this as a gamble with asymmetric risk to reward, in the sense that the maximum downside is 100% and the upside could well, theoretically, be much higher. Do note that if it all goes to zero, I'm perfectly ok with it.

However, don't just take my word for it. Make sure you understand what you're getting into before buying any cryptocurrencies.

Hedging is just a story so what happens when USD recover? Sell bitcoin?

The hedge is just one aspect for me, long-term I do believe there's value in crypto so I'll likely continue to maintain a portion of my portfolio in crypto (<5%) unless the story for crypto changes.
