A lot also depends on the industry the growth stocks are in and what sort of crisis you're referring to. Take a look now, you see many tech growth stocks at 52 week highs. But if the crisis is tech-related such as the dot.com bubble period, I'm pretty sure it'd be vice-versa.
Hence, I minimise my volatility by ensuring I have low beta stocks as well.
