'If you love your job, you will never have to work a day in your life.' What are your thoughts on this quote? Do you believe it?

My goal in life is to be a contemporary artist but I am not sure if that is a dream I should work towards.

If this is your goal in life, how will you feel if you don't achieve it in your lifetime? Will you leave this world with regrets?
Only you can decide if it's a dream worth pursuing.

What is it about being a contemporary artist that excites you? If you wake up every single morning looking forward to contributing as a contemporary artist, I'd say, just go for it. If you truly enjoy being a contemporary artist, I'm sure you won't consider that as "work". It'd be more like a pleasure / enjoyment. And yes, I believe in the quote.

If the concern is that it is not a paying job at this point, then look for a regular paid job. But, set some time aside to continue pursuing your dream.

Life's too short to live with regrets.

Yes, it makes sense. Personally, I enjoy what I am doing at my work that I don't mind spending most of my usable time to work and to improve myself at work.

For your case, there are two ways that we can look at this.

Firstly, if you need money for survival, then get a full-time job while pursue your life goal as a hobby or on a part-time basis. Do it till the point when you are financially stable, or when you can turn your life goal into a livelihood.

Secondly, if you are financially stable, then spend quality time to plan out how you can work your life goal and work at it for the rest of your life.
