If you cancel your flight ticket that has been redeemed with miles, do you lose these miles? Do the banks take back these miles?

Given the growing Covid-19 situation, it might mean postponing/cancelling certain travel plans. Trying to assess the impact it might have on things other than just the bank account. How can you go about reclaiming your miles?

Since the expenditure is reversed back onto your card, therefore expect the rewards (e.g. miles) to be reversed as well. Otherwise, there will be an arbitrage opportunity to this end.
