I’ve invested about 40k in DBS digiportfolio. Is it wise to carry on in view of COVID-19?

Would there ever be a scenario where I lose everything?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

This is why you need an advisor sometimes.

It is the emotions of a person that causes underperformance, not the logical brain.

If you buy a property for investment situated near TTSH, do you sell it immediately because it is near NCID? Many people did during the SARS outbreak and there were many savvy people who scooped property deals of a lifetime during that event.

In many cases, liquidity of an asset can be a downfall of performance.

Go back to your original rationale for investing and ask yourself why you invested the money in the first place.

It should be clear, less than 30 seconds and fit within a single page.

Whether or not you should carry on should be very in line with your investment objective. If it is still within your investment objective, stay invested. If not, divest.

Since you have invested, you should wait for the market to recover. You would lose some but definitely not everything. As long as you have a diversified portfolio with different assets classes with low correlations, you should be fine in the long run. Investing is for the long term, not short term.

If u still have bullets, u can continue to buy to average down when market is dipped. Otherwise just hold on to it.
You will not lose everything with ETF.
If u r quitting now, u will fall into buy high sell low which is the reason why most ppl lose money in stock market

Keep calm and look into the reason why you invested in them in the first place. It is very unlikely that you will lose everything from any particular asset, even more unlikely from an asset class that is Digiportfolio approved (Which can be selected from your risk appetite)

Maybe take this as a chance to read up more on your invested asset to see if this align with what you want.
