I just graduated in media studies and I have yet to find a job. Is there any way to start freelancing during this COVID-19 period to earn a bit of cash? How should I begin?

I never planned to freelance but since it is so difficult to find a job during this period, I thought maybe I could try freelancing out.

Hey Anon! First of all congrats for graduating, it's been a tough year so far. Perhaps what I can suggest you to do is to start some personal project. What kind of media studies are you in? Maybe you can try to run a social media campaign? Write an article? Publish them and get some reviews or feedbacks.

From here on, you can try to reach out to smaller business (by small, I mean those 1 owner company), offer them help to publicise their business or write for them. You can begin with a super low value and gradually increase it.

The thing about freelance is that you've to prove that your skills are good and the results are good. TLDR; build on your portfolio and work your way up.
