I bought some US and SG shares offline in 2011 in cash from a brokerage. Now they say I have no record of this! (but I can see it in my scrap book... Broker shows me screenshot that it's not on record). CDP shows the SG shares I bought so how do I locate my US shares? Musical chairs done. I even called up 2 other brokerages. Only Philips I have proof of old statements. I am sure it's not sold as I had buy n hold forever mindset. Now what can i do? Make a police report? Then what?

I believe US shares are bought under custodian account. Show your broker proof of statement/ transactions that you bought the US shares through them. Follow up with an email to customer service that conversation took place and you expect them to reply within 2 weeks (or a timeline you are comfortable with). Let them come back with proof that shares are sold with your instructions or transferred or whatsoever. If this does not resolve, write in to MAS to seek advise.

Best of luck.
