Personally, I did not get the SAFRA membership. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • As an NSF, you will already receive free SAFRA membership for the term of your service.

  • I lived far away from SAFRA centers and did not use their facilities

  • Some discounts are attractive... but most of my friends had SAFRA so I simply piggybacked on their membership 😂

  • The free watch did not interest me

It is quite an affordable membership, but it is still a few hundred dollars for a 5/10 year membership plan. You should evaluate the cost and benefit and see if you will stand to gain from signing up.

It costs between $30-40 for membership a year, depending on the duration of the plan. Quite a number took up the 5/10-year plan for the free watch.

SAFRA members enjoy:

  • Access to six clubhouses conveniently located at Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines, Toa Payoh and Yishun.

  • Exclusive members’ rates at all SAFRA facilities, SAFRA-organised activities and interest groups.

  • Special privileges and discounts at over 3,000 partnering merchant outlets island-wide on a wide variety of products and services leveraging on SAFRA and DBS Credit/ Debit Card’s network of partners.

If, based on your current lifestyle and spending habits, likely to use their facilities often and shop (at selected stores) frequently then you should get it. Else, not worth getting to make you spend more.
