TraceTogether data can be used by the police. With this piece of news, we wonder how much is our data worth exactly.

Hi Anon! I think one's data is worth a lot nowadays especially since we put so much of our information online, and social networking sites actually depend on our data to predict consumer behaviour for advertising and research purposes for their platform algorithm. I don't think we can put a value to that though since its not exactly a tangible asset for us to calculate the value.

I think data is like art. A random Tom Dick and Harry’s data? Maybe is worthless. A rich/famous/powerful person’s data? Might be worth millions if a criminal manage to get hold of it.
For normal people like me, you would require a big group of people’s data to get real value out of it. Think like Amazon, Google. They need a big group of random people like us to make the data valuable.
